Product Spotlight – Gallery Wrapped Canvases!

I am going to start featuring products that I offer at least monthly here on the blog. These are one of my most popular products, gallery wrapped canvases! They come ready to hang on your wall and are truly beautiful works of art!

Here are some photos of a gorgeous new sample canvas I had made. My samples that I bring to client’s sessions get so beat up so it was time to get some new ones.

The hardware comes installed on the canvas so it’s ready to hang right on your wall.

The image wraps around the 1.5 inch stretcher bars so your image pops right off the wall.

And here you can see the beautiful canvas fine art texture.

You want one, don’t you?;-)

These are a few of my favorite things… | Virginia Newborn Photographer

Now I have that song “favorite things” stuck in my head but I thought it would be fun to post about my favorite things of 2009. I will not be going all Oprah on you and giving these things away and am certainly not being paid by these companies to endorse said products but here they are!

1. My IPhone.

For reals, could not live without it. I feel like I have everything on my laptop with me at all times anywhere I go. I am an ADDICT.

Also, if you have one please keep an eye out on my blog I have something excited in the works for people with IPhones.;-)

2. 17” Macbook Pro

It’s fast, it makes editing a breeze and it’s like another appendage of my body.

3. Canon 50 1.2L Lens

Could not live without this dreamy lens for indoor sessions like newborns. The bokeh is smooth and creamy and it’s super fast and sharp.

4. Ugg Boots

Used to think that Ugg stood for “Ugg-ly” but I got a pair for Christmas and I have a hard time taking them off. So warm and comfy.

5. Canon 85 1.2L Lens

Obsessed with this lens for outdoor sessions. It’s seriously amazing and the bokeh and sharpness at f/1.2 is MIND BLOWING.

6. Crumpler 8 Million Dollar Home

Love this bag, it fits my 2 Canon 5D bodies, an 85 1.2L, a 50 1.2L, a 24-70 2.8L, a 135 2.0L, a 100 2.8 macro, a flash, bunch of cards, and tons of other junk. It’s easy to carry too.

7. Starbucks Coffee
Make mine a Venti Pikes Roast with 2 Splendas and some skim milk. Could not live without my coffee.

8. Canon’s 5D MKII Camera Body

This camera rocks. The clarity and color straight out of the camera is amazing and the high ISO capabilities rock.

9. My Snuggie

I wear it all the time year round. I’m ALWAYS cold so it’s a must.

10. My CPA

Enough said, she does all of my monthly bookkeeping and I’d be lost without her considering I barely got a C in Accounting in college.

11. Facebook

Love it, keeps me in touch with all of my real life and internet friends.

BTW, are YOU a fan of little moon yet on FB? If not, click here!

12. Blinc Kiss Me Mascara

This mascara rocks. Love it.

13. Burts Bees

Best lip balm ever.

14. any kind of biscotti

Sooo good with coffee!

15. PhotoVision Digital Calibration Target (I have two sizes)

This thing rocks for setting a custom white balance and exposure and also doubles as a nifty reflector! Folds up really small too.

16. Twitter

Yep, I’m there too.;-)

So there you have it, a few of my favorite things.:-)

What are some things you can’t live without? I am always looking for new addictions, I mean useful items.

7 Days Old | Virginia Newborn Photographer

This little lady was not due until Christmas Day but made her appearance two weeks early! She didn’t want to miss all of the fun of Christmas and presents from Santa.;-)She was an absolute doll today for me at our photo shoot and I could have cuddled her all day long.

Some favorites!

Look at those wrinkles!

She looks like a little present here with the bow.

Look at those chubby cheeks!

And this one just blows me away. 7 days, eye contact, and a grin. The perfect little present under this family’s Christmas Tree this year.:-)

Congratulations F family, your daughter is a beautiful little addition!:-)

Rights of Passage | Ashburn Virginia Child Photographer

So today was an awesome day, I turned 33 and enjoyed every minute of it. 32 was a very good year for me both personally and professionally and I look forward to see what 33 brings. I’m not a fan of being another year closer to 40 but I’m healthy, my family is healthy and life is good.

I woke up to a bagel and coffee and hung out with my family all morning. Then I went to lunch with my Mom, Sisters, and Son. We came home and I enjoyed a glorious 2 hour nap (uninterrupted) while my husband baked me a Birthday Cake. Then we decorated the tree and as I was un-boxing all of our ornaments I was amazed at how many special ones we have, one for Our First Christmas as a married couple, a few First Christmas ornaments for Carter, and tons of awesome homemade ones from the little dude. This year Carter was even interested in helping me decorate the tree and while he wasn’t much of a real help it was so nice to have him old enough to understand the tradition of decorating the tree. We had a fantastic dinner from our favorite restaurant and I swore the day could not get better.

I turned off all the lights to get some nice photos of our tree, I wanted to use nice long shutters but had to improvise because I couldn’t find my tripod. I still love them because it’s our tree.

A few special ornaments:

I was about to put the camera away when I looked down at the floor and saw this:

It appears my little artist decided to decorate the wood floors with a crayon. I kind of laughed and told him that was not allowed and then looked up the stairs:

Oh yes, he drew all up and down the staircase.

I couldn’t stay mad at this face though:

In that moment I thanked God for washable crayons and for good and bad rights of passage. Yes, it all came out.

Hope your Sunday was as special as mine.:-)
