Happy 1st Birthday Clare!

Tomorrow is Clare’s First Birthday! Today I got to spend some time with her taking her one year photos and had so much fun. Miss Clare is an absolute joy to be around and has such a cute personality (and lots of it!!). We had to dodge a few rain showers but we got some great shots, here are a few of my favorites to share with Mom and Dad.

How gorgeous is she?!

Of all things the Empire Carpet commercial song makes her laugh the most, she’s such a hoot!

We took a little book break during a quick rain shower. I was tickled to find out that her favorite book is “Goodnight Moon” just like my son.

It cleared up so back outside we went!

It was so nice to meet you all today, I hope Clare enjoys her special day!!

Mmmmmmm, Macro!

Carter and I went on a little photo safari today. I snapped my 100mm 2.8 macro lens on the 5D, loaded him up in his radio flyer and off we went. I’m really loving my macro lens these days, it makes you really appreciate all of the small things in life that once seen close up are so beautiful.

And here’s my little helper. Now that he’s walking he’s all but impossible to take photos of.

Carrying my lens cap.

Hope you all had a wonderful Saturday!

Giving Back

This is something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time now. Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep is an amazing organization that provides professional photographers to families going through the loss of a child. This service is provided completely free to these families and the beautiful photographs are an important of the healing process.

I’m am now a proud member of this awesome group and while I know this will be heartbreaking and hard, I couldn’t imagine a better gift.

And because I couldn’t write a post without including a photo so here’s another of this cutie from last weekend.

Brothers!

I got to meet the cutest brothers today. They lived in the coolest neighborhood where we got to take pictures by the water at a marina, at a horse stable, and also a playground! We had so much fun and these two were perfect little models.

Here are a few favorites to share.

Hope you enjoyed your sneak peek K family, I had a lot of fun with you guys today!

A Curly Haired Cutie

Little Miss L lives up in New York City but was in town visiting her grandparents and cousins this weekend. She’s 15 months old and a complete sweetheart, by the end of our session she was blowing me kisses. We had so much fun walking around Old Town, Alexandria finding fun places to take pictures. Here are a few of the many favorites from today.

This photo takes my breath away, look at those curls!

L with her gorgeous Mommy.

Look at that smile!

Again, I find myself drawn to the cool old, colorful doors down in Old Town.

I really enjoyed meeting you all today, you have an amazing family and I appreciate you spending your morning with me. :-)
