Today I got to spend time with the adorable T! She turns one in about a month and Mom really wanted to capture this fun milestone with a photo session. I love the age when they can’t quite walk but can pull up on stuff and crawl, lots of photo possibilities and very little chasing.

This little guy came all the way up from North Carolina for our session today which I believe is the furthest anyone has ever traveled for a session with me! He was such a great sport and gave us lots of sleepy smiles. I adored snuggling him and hanging out with his awesome Mom & Dad. Cool parents and beautiful babies make my job so much fun.

I have the cutest clients ever, just thought I’d throw that out there. Mr. B is 8 months old and today (after a few reschedules) we met up to do his photo session. The weather could NOT have been nicer and he was all smiles and so sweet for me.

I found this blue wall a few months ago during a session and have been trying to figure out where it was ever since. Today as we were walking around Capital Hill I saw it and almost did a little cheer, I adore it.

I love this shot, I want to hang it on the wall and pretend it’s me and my son. Kidding of course, but I do love it.

Photographing a very active & mobile baby on a bed is not only a workout but also an adventure.

I do love a more non-traditional family shot too.

C family, so nice seeing you today, I hope these photos were worth the wait.

I have a confession, I love photographing toddlers as much as I love newborns and babies. Ages 1.5 – 3 are very, very tough ages to photograph but I love the challenge and I love getting to know these little people and their personalities. Figuring out what makes them giggle makes me smile and I feel like I’ve made a little friend by the end of the session.

Today’s session was a lot of fun, we spent the morning wandering around Capital Hill and finding lots of really awesome little spots to take pictures. I love going into the city and finding new beautiful streets and buildings every single time. Both kids were super good sports and I had so much fun capturing these photos even if I was sweaty and exhausted at the end, it’s ALWAYS worth it.

Sweet baby C is 7 months old and one of the most laid back babies I’ve ever met!

Big brother L will be 3 in about a month and has the most amazing hair and eyes!

I think Mom said it was going to be impossible to get a decent family photo, I’m so glad I could prove her wrong. I adore her outfit choices too.

Such a little darling!

And speaking of darling, how cute is she?!

Sweet little K is 3 months old but looking at him, you’d never guess! He’s a big boy and has the most delicious cheeks and legs I’ve ever seen. His gummy smiles and giggles made me so excited to have another baby soon not to mention his curly hair is just to die for adorable!

Two Weeks New | Virginia Newborn Photographer

Today I met the sweetest, most well behaved two week old ever! She is just beautiful and let me pose her however I wanted without making a peep. I know I’ve said it before but I have the best job and the coolest clients ever.

This morning I was SO excited to see another one of my favorite newborns from earlier this year! I can’t believe 6 months has gone by so fast yet again and how big he has gotten! I also loved seeing how big sister has transitioned into her new role swimmingly and is so in love with her brother. We met up at a beautiful location that surpisingly I had never been to and had some beautiful light this morning. It was perfect (minus the gnats)!

I adore 3 year olds with sass!

And sweet J who is 6 months now and is absolutely delicious!

Such a sweet baby boy.

Mom & I have already discussed an arranged marriage between my son and her gorgeous daughter.

I was SO excited to see sweet Hayden again today! I have been photographing him since he was inside Mommy’s belly and haven’t seen him since he was a teeny newborn. Now he is 8 months old and just the cutest thing ever, beautiful blue eyes and wispy blonde hair. Love this age!!

You can almost hear his sweet giggle in this one. Look at those chunky legs!

I can’t believe that one of my favorite little baby planners is one already! I’ve had so much fun capturing her first year and not only getting to know her but also have grown close to her Mama too who is one of my favorites. She’s actually 1 year 3 months now but who’s counting.

We did shot under that same willow tree when she was a newborn. I love it.

I’m still blown away with how much hair she has!

Last time I saw this family it was for big sister’s 1 year photo session last September and now a year later I was back doing baby brother’s newborn session! There is nothing cooler than watching your client’s families grow. I adore their newest additon, sweet little B was such an angel and I adore his chubby cheeks!
