About the Artist:

I am completely inspired by babies and children. I find everything about their young lives to be so beautiful, whether it be a newborn's wrinkled and flaky new skin or a toddler’s first wobbly steps. Gummy smiles and belly laughs make my heart soar and I feel so blessed to be able to capture all of these fleeting moments for my clients.

I specialize modern, fine art newborn & baby photography. I love what I do and it shows in every photo I take. My style is very organic and natural; you'll never hear me utter the words "say cheese". I'm also very flexible and will try to work with you to get the best results. You will walk away from a session with me with unique and original photos that will be treasured forever.

Inspired by our nightly ritual of reading "Goodnight Moon" to our son Carter, the name Little Moon Photography was born.

A Star is Born | Virginia Newborn Photography

When Mom & Dad were pregnant with little B they called her their little star and she lived up to that nickname today at her session. Beautiful Brynli was 6 days old for her session today and was my first newborn session in the new studio. Not only is she simply gorgeous but she was a perfect model. They waited a long time for her but I’d say she was most definitely worth the wait.

The studio has the most amazing light and I’m so excited to be able to do more fun and creative things in there since I have access to all of my props at once.

She has the most beautiful lips and curly hair.

Simple & beautiful.

Spring Has Sprung | Washington DC Baby Photographer

I have done 6 sessions with this family and 4 of them have been in April. We did big sister’s newborn session in April of 2008, her 1 year session in April of 2009, baby sister’s newborn session in April of 2010 and now today, baby sister’s 1 year session. If I don’t see them next April, I might be sad.

Today we celebrated baby sister J’s first birthday out on the grounds and gardens of the National Cathedral. I have never been there and it was absolutely beautiful, so lush and green and with the cathedral in the background it was just perfect.

The beautiful Birthday Girl.

I feel like it was yesterday that I was photographing big sister as a baby.

J is the happiest baby ever, made my job so easy.

Mr. Handsome | Virginia Baby Photographer

I haven’t seen this little man since I did his newborn session last year and was so excited to do his one year portraits today. We had the most amazing spring afternoon, it was warm with a cool breeze and the late afternoon light was just perfection.

I love his little grin.

SO close to walking, taking lots of steps but then gets on the ground and crawls.

Isn’t he so cute?!

He was in a pretty serious mood today but I love these soulful, non-smiley photos too.

T, it was great seeing you today and I’m so happy Mother Nature cooperated with us.

The Studio | Virginia Newborn Photographer

It’s been a lot of blood, sweat and tears but the studio is finally as close to being done as possible for now. I’m so happy to have a space to call my own, it’s truly a dream realized.

The front room/reception area. Those windows and floors date back to the 1850′s. Light just steams in here all day since the windows face Northwest it’s never “bad” light.

My desk sits in front of the old fireplace. My space was an old mansion that was converted into commercial space in beautiful, Historic Downtown Leesburg, Virginia.

Some of the details.

The shooting room and private bathroom. I’m still waiting on my white leather sofa to be delivered for this room.

And you can see that back corner is where all of my props, blankets & backdrops are hiding.

My packaging station, I love this spot.

Happy Half Year! | Ashburn Virginia Baby Photographer

I’m 11 days behind but Happy 6 Months to my sweet little Reed! It’s been a crazy month for me, between opening my new studio and shooting 10 newborns in 20 days, I haven’t had a whole lot of free time. There are days where I literally don’t even have time to eat but being a Mom to these two boys and running my own business is well worth the craziness. I will post lots of studio photos tomorrow but tonight I wanted to share some photos of my kids.

6 Months, look at how much he has changed!

I pretty much kiss on this face 24 hours a day, those cheeks are just delicious.

He’s been sitting up unassisted for about a month now and gets better and better at it every day. I have big plans for a session with him in the new studio, just waiting on a prop to arrive.
