Birthday Twins! | Virginia Baby Photographer

I can’t believe that Z & E are going to be one in just a few short weeks, it seems like yesterday that I got the call that they were born. It was so good seeing them again today and watching them interact with each other, I give mad props to Mom because these two are FAST and into everyting!

Sweet baby doll E who is so happy and smiley 24/7 it seems.

And the laid back little lovebug Z.

I adore this photo of the two of them, it looks like they are sharing a joke or something.:-)

Yep, definitely laid back.

Mr. Happy | Virginia Baby Photographer

Not only is this little guy one of the cutest babies ever he was also SO HAPPY. Sweet 8 month old J loved posing and smiling for the camera, just don’t put him in the grass he was not a fan of that.

I’m not going to lie, I wanted to choose like 20 photos for this sneak peek because I loved so many but I want to keep a few favorites a surprise for Mom & Dad.

At 8 months old he’s already crawling, pulling up and trying to walk! He’s a VERY active little guy.

I wasn’t kidding, he is really cute isn’t he?

We had a gorgeous day out today!

B Family, it was so nice to finally meet you! Enjoy your trip next week I can’t wait to show you the rest!

Sweet Cole – Day 5 | Virginia Newborn Photography

This little (big)  guy belongs to one of my best friends from high school, he joins a big sister, big brother and two adoring parents. He arrived at nearly 10 pounds and has cheeks that demand to be nibbled on. I went over today to meet him, catch up with Mom but couldn’t leave without snapping some photos of him. I can’t wait to have our new addition in October, I know they will be buddies.:-)

Seriously? Those cheeks and lips are just adorable.

Don’t let the sleepy photos fool you, I fully expected a chunky 5 day old to sleep the whole time but he was really more interesting in eating. This must be his Zoolander blue steel look.

Lotsa rolls on this little buddy!

Yep, gorgeous newborn.

Congrats F family, I’m so so happy for you guys and can’t wait to see him (and you all) again soon!!

How do I edit? | Virginia Newborn Photography

I get a TON of questions asking me how I edit my photos and the awesome Shannon over at The Maternal Lens put together a blog post with before and after photos along with the steps taken from me and some other amazing photographers. I think it’s fun to see how everyone edits photos so differently to achieve their final products.

My first piece of advice to anyone is get it right IN CAMERA. It’s much easier to take a well exposed and lit photo and polish it into a portrait than it is to take something that stinks out of camera and make it something it’s not.
