Two Birthdays! | Maryland Child Photographer

I met these two adorable kids back in January and yesterday got to see them again to celebrate Miss M turning 3 and Mr. R turning 1! We got a lot of shots of M but little R was feeling under the weather due to his vaccinations so we are going to do round 2 soon to get more of him and some family shots. The color in the gardens was simply amazing, I’m so happy to welcome Summer this weekend.

A quick sneak peek!

I did coax one smile out of little man…

The cutest little 3 year old!

She loved posing for me. :-)

Sweet little sleepy boy.

L family, so great seeing you again and looking forward to round 2. ;-)

Hope all of my blog readers have a Happy Memorial Day, let’s not forget the reason for the season and thank all of our service men and women., cheers!

Magical Morning | Northern Virginia Child Photographer

Every now and then you find a little magic right in your own back yard! We had booked this session originally 9 months ago and Mom told me about this beautiful little park in her neighborhood and how she’d love to incorporate a pram that was hers as a baby. Due to weather and other reasons we just now were able to do the session but it could not have worked out more perfectly.  Once she told me about the pram and the location she had in mind I pretty much had an idea of what I wanted to do with it and was so excited to be able to execute it today.

This is the shot I had in my head, I adore the lush greens and the pop of the red, patent pram! Oh and the adorable baby doesn’t hurt either.

Big brother J who is 3 might be the most well behaved and cooperative toddler ever! I love photographing him.

He’s such a little poser!

Soooo happy!

L family, it was SO nice to meet you all (finally), I hope you love what you see so far!

Who is up for another FAQ? | Virginia Newborn Photographer

It’s been WAY too long since I’ve done a FAQ post here on the blog. I will blame it on the fact I’ve been doing 4 sessions a week for months now. I do have a break coming up and will have some free time so let’s do it!

I need your help though, this post is for YOU! Do you want to see some before & after shots with how I edited them? Do you have specific questions about posing or the technical aspects of shooting? Let me know! Either post in the comments or send your questions to me before June 10th: amber@littlemoonphotography.com.

Please remember that I like to keep the busines related questions off the blog so if you have any of those I will be offering one-on-one mentoring very soon in the future so hold on to them.

I can’t not post this without photos, here is one from today.

Ah, so soft, pink and pretty!

Happy Thursday all!

A Baby Sister! | Virginia Newborn Photographer

I met this family back in 2008 when they welcomed baby N to the world. Now here we are a little over a year and a half later and they welcomed in their 2nd child, a baby sister! One of the best parts of my job is watching the families I meet grow and photographing all of their children as they grow.

A few favs!

Meet Miss M, 14 days old and absolutely gorgeous!

Proud big bro!

Back when I did big bro’s session, we incorporated a gorgeous knitted green blanket that grandma made. She made a pretty pink one for baby sister so I had to use it.

I love this one, looks like he’s telling her a secret and she’s saying “NO WAY!”.

Such a pretty little face!

Congratulations A family, your newest addition is perfect!

It’s a GIRL! | Virginia Newborn Photographer

I have mad respect for people who can hold out on finding out their babies gender until delivery day. I am no one of those people, if I could find out the second I become pregnant, I would. The fact that we have to wait until June 10th is killing me.

Remember this adorable family? Their little surprise is a baby girl! Today I met her on day 12 and she most definitely put up a fight, it took me 3 hours to get her to sleep and once she was out we had about 20 minutes to get some sleepy shots before her doctor’s appointment. Once she was asleep she was a dream, I guess she just didn’t want to miss any action!

You would never guess this sweet little cupcake…

Was wiiiide awake just like this for most of the time today.

And that is just fine b/c she’s so darn cute!

And we have to have a shot with big sis!

Congratulations M family, you guys make gorgeous baby girls!!
