This sweet little boy came early and fast! He’s not due for another week or so but decided to make his debut 12 days ago. He joins an adorable big brother and two awesome parents who I enjoyed spending my morning with today.

What makes a good photographer?
I’m sure if you are doing your research on who to take your baby, child, or family’s photographs you have been inundated with lots of pretty logos and flashy websites. I think it’s VERY important to really think through and research who you are choosing before you do so. Your child is NOT going to be a newborn, or a smiley 6 month old for long so make sure you make the right choice when selecting your photographer because you don’t get a redo!

There are a LOT of photographers out there to choose from, make sure you choose a GOOD one because your memories are priceless.
So in addition to doing FAQ posts, I now have a new little widget on my sidebar where you can ask me any question. It links directly to my formspring page and I answer questions daily and have answered quite a few already. As usual, please keep the questions technical, I am not open to answering any hard core business questions publicly but usually try to if you email me privately.
They don’t have to be about photography either, so if you are dying to know what shampoo or toothpaste I use ask away! I’m a mostly-open book.

Doesn’t that photo make you long for spring? After a postponed session today because of the monsoon we’re having, I’m ready for warm weather, flowers, green grass, and long sunny days!
I first met this adorable family when their first baby was just 6 and a half months old back in 2008. Now they are a family of 4 with a new baby boy! I can’t believe how big S has gotten and how sweet she was with her baby brother J, it was beyond cute.

These two were so much fun and had lots of great ideas for our session today. I love doing urban sessions in DC, there are amazing photo opportunities everywhere you turn. I can not WAIT to meet baby girl because I have a feeling she’s going to be gorgeous too.
