So today was a rare day that I didn’t have a session so Carter and I had a little day of fun. One of my resolutions this year is to not only do more planned “sessions” with my son but also use my camera to take more everyday snapshots of him. We have a point and shoot that we use to take these snaps but I also think it’s fun to push myself creatively and make his everyday snaps artful and fun.
Here is our day today in photographs!
First he had some cereal which normally I wouldn’t photograph but we FINALLY put his highchair away and he sits at the breakfast table himself. Every time I see him sitting there I want to scream “where did this big kid come from and where is my baby?!”. Seriously.
Love his morning hair!

And this is what I get now when I ask him to smile for me.

Gotta love that cheesy grin.

Then we watched a few cartoons, or toons as he calls them.

After that we got dressed and headed to my Mimi’s house (my Mom). Mimi might be one of Carter’s favorite people though he loves all of his grandparents. He walked in and gave her the BIGGEST hug I’ve ever seen!

We went outside to water Mimi’s plants (he’s obsessed with her hose) and I snapped this shot. Good lord, he looks SO much older than 2 and kinda looks like a little Ralph Lauren model here.

Back inside with Mimi.

Ignore the crackers in his mouth, look at those blue eyes. So glad he got his Daddy’s eye color and not mine.

SO happy to be with his Mimi!

After that we all went out to lunch with my sister and cousin Jack, snuggled in Mimi’s bed and watched TV, and then came home. It was such a fun day!
* Not included in our day of photos is the moment he took off running from me in Walgreen’s almost knocking down a display, the tantrums and throwing toys on the floor, or forced early bedtime since he skipped his nap today. Ah, life with a toddler!
