    About the Artist:

I am completely inspired by babies and children. I find everything about their young lives to be so beautiful, whether it be a newborn's wrinkled and flaky new skin or a toddler’s first wobbly steps. Gummy smiles and belly laughs make my heart soar and I feel so blessed to be able to capture all of these fleeting moments for my clients.

I specialize in natural light, modern custom portraiture. I love what I do and it shows in every photo I take. My style is very organic and natural; you'll never hear me utter the words "say cheese". I'm also very flexible and will try to work with you to get the best results. You will walk away from a session with me with unique and original photos that will be treasured forever.

Inspired by our nightly ritual of reading "Goodnight Moon" to our son Carter, the name Little Moon Photography was born.

The Many Faces of Carter | Ashburn Virginia Child Photographer

Just a few snaps of my little dude this morning. I love these because he is in his favorite jammies and has his favorite Wiggles guitar with him, he loves to jump up and down on the bed jamming on his guitar. I adore all of his cute expressions and silly smiles because they are all SO HIM.

We are on Day 3 of being snowed in here and I think all of us are feeling a little stir crazy.:-)

* This post was brought to you buy a tootsie roll pop and nick jr, because without those two things I could have NEVER gotten him to smile AND look at the camera.

SNOMG Aftermath | Ashburn Virginia Photographer

We woke up this morning on the day after the snow storm of the century cuddled up in our warm bed and so thankful we had our power back. We have begun to dig ourselves out along with the rest of the DC Area today. The sun was shining and I was going a bit stir crazy so I decided to venture out and have a little photo safari in our neighborhood.

As much as it’s an inconvenience the snow is absolutely gorgeous. I am NOT a nature photographer but I was completely inspired by the snow and deep blue sky today.

Not sure what hole this is on the golf course but look how buried the flag pole is!

The playground.

Look at the dinosaur, that thing is normally a good 3 – 4 feet tall and you can barely see it now!

Our street.

The Manor House, isn’t this pretty? I love the sunflare and the blue sky against all that snow.

The Club House.

A view from the top.

Mmmmm, more sunflare and pretty snowy trees.

That pick up your dog poop sign is usually pretty tall and right now you can barely see it.

The schools are closed for the next few days and the roads are still really bad so all of my photo sessions this weekend and tomorrow have had to be rescheduled. While it’s nice to get out and shoot just for fun, I’m wondering when this crazy weather is going to end, they are calling for 6-12 MORE inches of snow on Tuesday/Wednesday! Wish us luck!

I will also be offering specials that will ONLY be available to those who have the app so go to the ITunes store or App Store on your phone and download it now! The first 10 clients to download it get something special.:-)

In other news, we are completely snowed in here (over 30 inches so far) and after having no power for the past 8 hours are finally back up and running. I have never appreciated electricity so much in my entire life as I did this morning, it was rough going but I will admit it was nice to spend time with Carter with zero distractions.

Here are a few snaps of him today in all of his morning hair glory.

And here you can see how high the show is by our deck door, Carter is a pretty tall 2 year old. He also enjoys eating snow.;-)

Have an awesome weekend all and stay safe! Next week will be another busy one so stay tuned.

16 Day Old Peanut | Virginia Newborn Photographer

This little guy was a bit older than most of my newborns but was a perfect little model. Today we met up early before the big blizzard hit the DC area to do Mr. A’s newborn session and I have never met a calmer, sweeter, more laid back baby in my life! When awake he just laid there looking out the window mesmerized by all around him. He was a treat to photograph!

A few favorites!

He is an adorable little peanut, just a little over 6 pounds and perfectly adorable.

Look at those big beautiful eyes! He had awesome eye contact and was so happy to be swaddled and warm.

Go BIG BLUE! Mom & Dad are both proud Michigan Alum.

Is he not the cutest thing ever in this hat?!

Congratulations M Family on your beautiful baby boy! Enjoy being snowed in with him this weekend.:-)

8 Days New | Virginia Newborn Photographer

Oh how excited I was to have a newborn baby GIRL today! I have had a long spell of all boys the past 6 weeks so this baby girl was a nice change in pace. Miss G is such a sweet little girl with the chubbiest cheeks ever. She was happy to pose for me today.

A few favorites.

I’ve had these delicate flower headbands for over a month now and had no one to use them on. Loooove them!

There is nothing cuter than a smooshy newborn face!

G’s Mom is one of the top Floral Designers in the DC area, you can check out her work here at Petal’s Edge. Mom really wanted to use rose petals in our session somehow a la American Beauty and here is our result:

Congratulations R Family, she’s absolutely gorgeous and it was a pleasure meeting you today!
