CrossFit Mama | Washington DC CrossFit Maternity Photographer

I was SO excited to find out that one of my most favorite people/coaches/friend at my CrossFit Box LoCo CrossFit was pregnant! I knew we would get to have fun shooting her maternity images, and boy did we ever! We used a strobe in a softbox off-camera to create dramatic lighting and shadows, which totally fits the look we were going for while shooting in our grimey, dirty CrossFit box.

Big thank you to Aaron Wyche who helped me out this day, he’s an amazing sports photographer at Nova Sports Photo who I met back in May when he was photographing the Memorial Day Murph WOD I was participating in.

Kelly not only looks amazing, but she is one strong mama! Seeing her in action made me wish I had starting crossfitting back before I got pregnant with my boys.

KristeenMarie - Love this! Very unique and I’m sure very personal and close to this couple’s personality/hobbies.

Helen - Thank you for the inspitation. One of the women at CrossFit Oxford Originals in UK has given me permission to take photos of her. I would love to hear how you achieved this shoot (lighting etc) and any tips for a competent non-porfessional photographer.
